Genesis Life Cube© - ‘Changing Hearts and Minds for a Better Tomorrow’

Press Release 30-06-2008

Oil and Gas Development Corporation Limited (OGDC) has formed an effective partnership with a leading United States investment and merchant banking organisation to project manage the design, fabrication, and construction of the Genesis Life Cube©. The Genesis Life Cube©, capitalises on current and projected crude oil prices, capturing existing micro-refinery technology combined with an Independent Power Plant, powered by the liquid petroleum gas by-products captured from the crude oil processing facility. What makes the Genesis Life Cube© unique is that this innovative technological solution adds Reverse Osmosis nano technology to deliver a single sustainable solution, allowing the indigenous operator to refine 30kpd of crude oil which will in turn power the IPP giving out 25+MW of power for the reverse osmosis unit capable of producing up to 800,000gallons of fresh water per day.

Capturing lessons learned from previous oil and gas developments in West Africa, ‘Sustainability’ and ‘Restoration’ are the key objectives of both the investor group and OGDC. ‘Sustainability’, because the investment group and OGDC are committed to deliver sustainable development solutions to local operators in West Africa who want to maximise returns from their own oil fields and ‘Restoration’ because the local people will benefit as the significant spare water and power capacity which will be fed into the national water and power line grids to the local communities thereby improving their health and welfare changing in the hearts and minds.

OGDC shall provide the Genesis Life Cube© on a rental basis where we will act as owner/ operators, charging a processing fee for every barrel that is produced and for every unit of electricity and gallon of water over an agreed period of time.

OGDC shall provide the Genesis Life Cube© on a Build, Operate, Transfer, basis so at the end of an pre-defined period of time the Genesis Life Cube© will belong to the local operator. This is the first time that this type and range of combined technology and services has been offered and the response from operators and Governments in West Africa, Asia and the Middle-East has been very exciting resulting in OGDC securing a number of projects, which are confidential at this stage.

OGDC is committed to seeing these projects through to realization and work has already started carrying out a gap analysis in identifying and securing suitable facilities to construct the units on a lump sum turnkey basis.

OGDC is one of those few companies that aim to buck the trend at all times and in so doing we are unique. The company is the leading provider of project management consultancy and project assurance services of its type to the upstream and downstream oil, gas, petrochemical and construction industries, working closely with our Clients providing project solutions that deliver effective project definition, planning and execution with fully integrated OGDC/Client project teams, which protect Client interests at all times.

New Partnership Formed To Fill Void In The Drilling Market.

Press Release 30-06-2008

Oil and Gas Development Corporation Limited (OGDC) has formed an effective partnership with a leading United States investment and merchant banking organisation to project manage the design, fabrication, and construction of new build Swamp Drilling Barges complete with leading edge innovative drilling technology to capture the oil reserves located in the challenging oilfields located under swamp regions.
OGDC and its investor partners are committed to seeing these projects through to realization and work has already started carrying out a gap analysis identifying and securing suitable facilities to construct the units on a lump sum turnkey basis. OGDC is currently identifying potential shipyards across the world including facilities in Scotland and Ireland as it has been agreed by the partners that this project will not be awarded on the basis of cheapest option but on commitment to deliver good quality vessels on time and against an agreed budget, whilst taking cognisance of the fact that shipyards in Scotland and Ireland have an excellent reputation for the quality of completed vessels that they deliver.

After much market research OGDC identified that there is a significant void in swamp drilling barge market as the average age of the tender assisted swamp barges is over 25 years old and do not carry the new drilling technology that will allow operators to capture significantly more oil from these challenging oilfields, extending the life-time and revenue generating capability of the fields.

The new builds will be conventional drilling barges fitted with 3000hp drilling capacity equipment complete with full electronic monitoring of drilling operations. Virtually all of the parameters of the barge will be monitored by the system. The monitoring shall be electronically stored and will provide the client with a comprehensive database upon well completion. The information can be monitored in real-time from virtually any location via satellite connection to an internet website, allowing the operator to log in into the rig system reducing the time and cost of communications to the customer.

The units are designed with a transit daft of two metres or less. The mud handling and processing systems will consist of circular tanks to aid improved mixing capabilities, eliminating the build in corners of square tanks, creating better shearing capabilities. Crane capacity will be increased to accommodate the heaviest project lift during all phases of the drilling operations.

OGDC was founded by George Karstein Irvine and John Holland, both from Scotland and currently has offices located in Scotland, Ghana, Nigeria, China and the Middle-East, with new offices planned to opened and operational in the USA and Malaysia during the second half of 2008.

OGDC delivers high value solutions for our Clients. Our Clients appreciate the publicly stated Business Ethic and Local Content Policies as it offers them transparency in all business dealings along with a highly competent local and expatriate project management teams focused on delivering projects on time and within budget. Lateral thinking and effective teamwork is how we deliver our range of value-added project services.
